Wondering if anyone could offer advice? Have found the below on Bruno's pad and it looks very sore! Feel bad as I have only just now noticed it as it doesnt seem to bother him until I touch his paw (he hates this as I cut too far back when trimming his nails and now won't let me anywhere near them, as you can probably tell). Is there anything I can do to relieve this or should I book a trip to the vets?

Cooled boiled salt water is a good thing to bathe with, or well diluted hibiscrub , but I would probably see the Vet to be on the safe side ( I am a worrier ! )

I agree with the cooled boiled water being a brilliant healer.Dexter had a raw paw from an astro turf burn over the Summer that looked about the same degree of rawness as Bruno...Of course I was straight to the vet and she gave me some really greasy antibiotic cream and bandaged it up....24 hours later it was still wet ,raw and just as sore looking.I stopped the cream and bathed it with cbsw and left the dressing off when we were in the house and it was so much better, probably took 5 days to heal properly.I did dress it and boot him up for toilet trips and short walks,
Just to say,I knew what the injury was and the 24 hours of cream ensured no infection occured so don't rely on this if you try it and don't see any improvement really quickly....I would get it checked out then ,paw injuries can go nasty x

Not knowing how or what has caused the problem I would be going to the vet

Looks like he has scraped the fur off the side of that toe pad. Seems to be missing the fur there.

Foot injuries can be a challenge to heal up (just because of the location and getting wet and dirty and being easy to lick at etc) so a vet trip wouldn't hurt. The main things are to keep the foot clean and dry - two things that can be tricky to achieve together with feet! If you do bathe it with salty water then dry it carefully afterwards (paper towel is good). Don't over bathe - it's keeping it clean and dry that does the healing.
