You know, those times when your dog shows devotion and you just fill up with love back at them ? ( Sorry in advance for the sugar coating !) Sam hasnt ever been overly demonstrative , not a fussy lad at all, I know that he loves me because of his willingness to please me all the time . Last night, early evening , the sun was still warm so I went out to potter in the garden, weeding the borders . I always sit on the grass to do this , weed bucket at one side of me , I knew that Sam was outside too, lurking round the back of the ponds in his routine search for frogs . I had my head down so didnt see him coming over , just this sudden snuffly lick in my ear let me know that he was there . I didnt say anything , carried on weeding when he lay so very close, head in my lap and nudged my hand so gently , it was one of those special moments , end of syrupy post
