Hi Steven and welcome to the forum.
I am afraid its difficult to say what might be going on just from your description. Nobody here is an expert in veterinary medicine, and I would very much encourage you to check with your vet, and ask the vet any questions you might have.
I really wouldn't want you to take any risks with eye problems.
I hope your vet can help you more.

Is the op to clear the infection from under her third eyelid? My Pointer had recurring bouts of conjunctivitis due to allergies when he was about the same age as your pup and had to have an op, it sounds quite brutal as they literally scrape the infection off but it does work.
Really hope Lucy is feeling better soon.

Hi Steven and welcome to you and Lucy. It might help if you could provide a little more info on Lucy's eye problem. What operation did the vet suggest she may need. Although as Jac says none of us have veterinary medicine qualifications members have a lot of experience which can be shared
