Hi I hope someone can help me. Alfie is a chocky boy of 7 months. We have had him from 9 weeks. The last two weeks he has been stiff on getting up. It's not just one leg can be back it front. Not had any trauma and i have stuck to his allowance re exercise. It goes as soon as he trots about for a mo. This happens in the evenings when he's been asleep for longer periods. He throws himself on the floor if I get him to get up and move. He's not over weight and eats a barf diet. Is this just stiffness or do I need to take him to the vets? He's a lazy boy not boisterous. He also never jumps up. Doesn't do the stairs as we have stair gate. Any advise greatly appreciated. Thank you Melanie x
Re: Stiffness on getting up mainly in the evening Hi there and welcome to the forum. Any limping or stiffness in a7 month old means a trip to the vet, I am afraid. Much better a trip too many...
Re: Stiffness on getting up mainly in the evening Hi and welcome to the forum I too would suggest a trip to the vets......better to be safe than sorry
Re: Stiffness on getting up mainly in the evening Cant add anything to the good advice, just to say welcome
Re: Stiffness on getting up mainly in the evening Hi there, I would vote for the vet too. Has he had any limping at all? Lilly was around 7 months when she started having problems with her hips. Not saying that is what it is, but better to get it checked out if you have noticed anything at all odd. Might be nothing but well done that you have spotted something different.
Re: Stiffness on getting up mainly in the evening Hi there and welcome, definatley visit the vet to get a check over x
Re: Stiffness on getting up mainly in the evening Hopefully just a pulled or strained muscle most probably will be given Dolagis an anti inflamatory works wonders
Re: Stiffness on getting up mainly in the evening I would be heading off to the vet too - not to worry you but that's when my Penny's stiffness started and a month later she was diagnosed with hip dysplasia. It could be nothing or it could be something. Always best to get checked out, better safe than sorry!
