I have recently read Pippa's excellent book, Total Recall and surprisingly have read it from cover to cover when normally would have just dipped into it. I decided to jazz up Benson's recall and was looking for a special reward when I came across a piece of very smelly Stilton cheese, left over from Christmas at the back of the fridge. I have been using this as a treat for about a week and Benson is now addicted to it to the extent that I have to be careful giving it to him for fear of loosing my fingers! This morning on our walk I was able to recall him when he was just a black dot in the distance (+300metres) and surrounded by other dogs. I now need to wean him off the treat without him noticing and then sell the idea to Sainsburys!

I, too, would run 300+ metres for Stilton. And I never run for anything.

Benson says he'd like some crackers to go with the Stilton?? If it's not too much trouble?

I too love Stilton. Love it too much to share with the dogs.

Molly is a dog of taste and discernment and loves Stilton.

I am also a fan, so she only gets the rind

I couldn't use Stilton as a treat. There would never be any left for the dog!
