Now I realise this is a very common issue, and normally buddy drops them, our back garden is full of them but I have made a fence to separate him from them, so we should be ok. My concern today is that he may have eaten a stone, less than pea sized luckily enough, should he be ok? Is this normal and he’ll pass it etc, he is 9 weeks old... thanks in advance, fingers crossed.

When I first brought Mango home, he ate a few stones and he was fine. This is something young animals do, not just dogs. Keep an eye on him, he will soon stop on his own.

Ours was the same, took her 4 weeks to stop, now she'll just choose a big one and chew on it for a while (teething..).

Thanks guys just needed a bit of reassurance, we’ve only had him a few days and he’s doing really well with training etc!

If he's eating/pooping normally then it shouldn't be a problem. If in any doubt, give the vet a ring.

Omg my 10 week lab does this too! She’s been fine although pretty sure she hasn’t swallowed any yet. She has started dropping them when told now only had her for a week. But totally agree other young animals do this my 9 month old son is exactly the same. Him n the puppy are two peas in a pod!

Thanks, touch wood he seems to be fine, and does just drop the big ones out, hopefully he’ll just grow out of it and/or we’ll incorporate a bit of ‘leave’ training into it!
