    Hi everyone!

So I have my two dogs, Pup who is an almost 2 year old beagle and Lucius who is a 4 year old Labrador.

Sometimes when Lucius is laying down by my feet (usually after they've been fed or bee taken on a walk) Pup will come up to Lucius and stand in front of hi face , they aren't face to face but pup is faci g sideways , looking away from him. Lucius will give him a sniff, get bored of sniffing and try to go to sleep.

Pup will then usually turn so he is still sideways but face the opposite way. The movement will sometimes wake Lucius and he'll sniff him again, and then he gets bored again and the cycle repeats until either pup realises Lucius is alseep or pup will whine at him and try and start playing, which usually ends in Lucius begrudgingly giving in and being knocked to the floor by an over exuberant pup (although I think he's just letting him win because he's so much bigger he can and has proven many times that he can tell pup to leave him alone if he wants to).

I was just wondering if anyone has ever experienced this before and why they do this?

I think your pup just wants Lucius to play, and Lucius is not really into it.

We dog sit a Sammy most days now, and while they do play, sometimes Cooper will pick up a toy and shove it into Loki's face just get a tug game started.
