Coming back over the flooded fields we came across a swan swimming in the over spilling water from the Eden Brooke. Small Black Dog sat and stared fascinated by this strange bird. I took a wide swing away from the swan to wade through the water behind it without disturbing it too much. Small Black Dog interpretted this as hunting the swan and was off crashing through the water straight for the swan. What she would have done if it had stood it's ground I don't know. It certainly wouldn't have taken well to being retrieved! Anyway from where I was standing I could watch the swan from behind take off and fly into the next field. Such a beautiful bird.

We went for a swim in the New Forest the other day and their was a swan that decided to take off. Riley was transfixed by the noise and the sight!
