Marlee loves, loves the pool! She has started to try and dive down into the water to retrieve her toys. She has gotten water in her ears... When our kids get this, they just put the alcohol drops for Swimmer's Ear in and everything was fine. However, my vet suggested that I use the rinse/ear flush. I did and that only seemed to make it worse. Her ears aren't infected (yet), they just have that annoying water in them and she just can't seem to shake it out.

My question is; can I use the Swimmer's Ear drops on Marlee? Has anyone else has this problem??

My dog swims most days, pond, river, tarn, reservoir. She is 7 and never had a problem, we have never touched her ears. Is your pool chemically treated, as it may be that irritating her, so you might have to adjust them ?

Hi there, thanks for responding! We have a salt water pool. It's pretty mild compared to chlorine pools. The only other thing that might be playing a part is that she's been trying to dive down to retrieve her toys from the bottom (5' at the deepest). Our old yellow lab was a diver and started out doing what Marlee is; sticking her head under water for periods while swimming and looking for her goods.

Our kids would get water in their ears and I would just put some of the Swimmer's Ear alcohol drops in them and it would resolve. I have not seen anything on Swimmer's Ear in dogs. Ugh?

    Any new thoughts?
