Hi all Is it possible for dogs to have tantrums like a toddler? Poppy has been a right pain on her lead today tugging, jumping up, etc and ive noticed it is when she does'nt get her own way..like shes picked something up she shouldnt have, sniffing too long i thought we had curbed this behaviour obviousley any not!! any more tips?? I want our walks to be enjoyable for both of us.. :'(

Re: TANTRUMS Some dogs are more opinionated than others and might get more frustrated at not getting what they want. Some dogs never question what you ask them to. With the 'opinionated' kind the main thing is not to give in to the 'tantrum'. Just persevere with the way you were approaching it before, in a patient, consistent way. Make doing what you want a fun, rewarding alternative (e.g. when you call her away from a thing she's sniffing at get her to do a little trick or a sit or something you are learning in class for a treat and excited praise to get her mind off rebellion). She'll get there in the end

Re: TANTRUMS Moodiness and naughtiness can indeed be a sign of impending heat in bitches! Think of it a bit like a teenage daughter just before her period...
