    hi all!
My boy is 15 months old now. We always say how lucky we were when he was a puppy, only a few bad nights, toilet training was awesome, good recall (following training from advice from this site) and he’s always been friendly and pretty relaxed!
The last month we have seen a shift in his behaviour! He has started pulling on the lead, a lot! We can’t walk past another dog without him pulling to see it, and twice now when off lead his recall has been awful, like he is deaf to me!!
He has always been well socialised, has daycare in a ladies home twice a week with 3 other dogs, and most days have an evening walk with 6 other dogs he has known since being a puppy.
This evening we were at the field and another dog came, (yourkshire terrier) they were all running around lovely and Jordy suddenly went for the new dog.
He really was growling and had his mouth round the dog and it took all my strength to pull him off!
It was very upsetting and frightening and has shook me up.
The owner of the other dog was relaxed about it and said it’s just dogs, but I’ve never known jordy to not get on with another dog! The little dog limped a little but after a minute was running around ok. I put jordy on the lead, he sat next to me and seemed relaxed, no growling or pulling.
I feel i can’t trust him off the lead now, am worried he will hurt another dog and just generally feel upset.
Ww have a 11 year old Yorkie at Home to whom he gets on with.
Has anyone else’s dog ever turned like this?? There was no warning barks or telling offs, or heckles up on his back it just happened....
    hoping it’s a one off!!!

Of course that’s just my guess. I’m not a behaviourist. Before my boy was neutered he asked the same way. All the smells and competition to sort out. Some go a little more girl crazy than others, just like teenage boys.

Sometimes play can look really aggressive, with teeth and holds and quite awful growling. The dogs can look frankly menacing and scary (all in the name of normal play).
I guess its difficult for any of us here to say one way or another what went on here @Nikki1
I probably wouldn't worry too much at this point, but maybe just keep an eye out when new dogs join the mix for a bit.

Ws the Yorkie being rude? Did your dog warn him first? Did Jordy hurt the Yorkie? It is normal for an adult dog to put a rude youngster in it's place and sexual status may have nothing to do with it. There should not be hurt to either dog but a dog might not know how much is enough. If you are absolutely sure there were no transgressions or warnings then yes, I'd keep a close eye on it. Well a close eye anyway.
