I know, if I’m worried, see a vet. But I don’t want to be a complete fusspot, running down to the vet at the drop of a hat. Anyway, what with vaccinations, flea treatment, tick treatment, everything under the sun treatment – sand fleas just in case as he is going on the beach… eyes a bit runny, ear infection, strange lump at the base of his penis (THAT was normal :-[ ), odd red spot (mosquito bite… :-[) I’ve probably already GOT a vet habit that I need to break. And he is going in for his 5 month health check next week anyway. So teething. Bit of blood on his toys almost every day now. Not a huge amount, just a bit. Gums look pretty normal, can’t see anything alarming anyway. A few “gaps” where I think there used to be teeth, but nothing hugely untoward looking in his mouth. Some whoppers of teeth coming through at the middle/back (sorry, have looked online at pictures, still incapable of identifying canine teeth). No obvious signs of discomfort. Perhaps takes a tad longer to chew a hard sea biscuit than before. He is his normal, energetic, self, as keen as always to fetch his ball and safestix. All normal and just to be expected, right? So I don’t need to be a complete wuss and run him down to the vet’s in the morning, just in case. Right.
Re: teething... Hah - still lookin' good, Charlie... Blood today is from slightly broken gum, pre molar, his rhs... why would knowing that make me feel better? It does, though... yawn and teeth by JulieTandCharlie, on Flickr
Re: teething... Oh wow,you caught him just right, did you play with him until he pegged out and sit and wait for a yawn?ha ha ha,lovely pic x
Re: teething... It was after his morning walk, and was snooze time - but he was resisting sleep because my Dad is here (and will play constantly with him) :. He'd been yawning for 15 minutes! He collapsed for his snooze just after the photo...
Re: teething... I think most of lilly's teeth just went "down the hatch". The one time we did notice, she had a toy or bone, cant remember which, covered in blood. We got a bit alarmed as there was so much, then noticed the tooth on the floor. (Kept it with kids baby teeth ;D ) So.......sounds normal to me too ;D Jac
Re: teething... OH just went to put his deck shoes on, and found a baby tooth stuck in one of them ;D ;D that'll teach him to put his shoes away so the pup doesn't chew them...
Re: teething... We found two of Amys. One on the window ledge? Guess someone must have been jumping up to see out and knocked her mouth? The 2nd we got her to drop, this had a lot of blood. Think the banned stick she found helped with that one.
Re: teething... Charlie was playing in the garden with a hard rubber ball earlier (which had previously been banned, but he loves it, and was going a bit wild, so I gave in and got it out again) and he suddenly stopped playing with it and his mouth had quite a lot of blood in it. We had a sit down, and 4 ice cubes. After that he seemed fine, and wanted to play again. But I think that's another couple of baby teeth gone.... he has two raw bits on his top gums now, I THINK its the really big ones coming. 4th pre-molars? (I've probably got that COMPLETELY wrong :-[).
Re: teething... The fairy never came here either, all went down the hatch . Fab photo of Charlie ;D ;D

[/quote] Yeah, I think that's right. There are 4 pre-molars and the 4th pre-molar is the big one (aka Carnassial tooth - different names for the same thing.) That tooth has 3 roots in it. It's a whopper. That photo is fantastic. I laughed my head off at that pic ;D
