I don’t normally allow advertising or causes to be promoted here but I hope you won’t mind me making this an exception.

As some of you know, Oz our techy guy, admin guru and all round helpful person, is my son-in-law and Dad to my gorgeous grandson Neddy. Who is not very well.

Firstly I’d like to really big thank Oz for staying up until past 1 am last night to oversee the transfer to the new forum software, which was carried out by a specialist team in Argentina.

You may have noticed a ‘just giving’ link in Oz’s signature, and I hope he won’t mind me saying a few words about that. Oz is about to raise money for research into the very rare disease that Neddy has. And to do that he is going to enter an event that will be very challenging. Which is why it’s called judgement day!

He’ll be getting very muddy and very tired, and I’m going to make sure he posts up some photos of his day for us to smile at. In the meantime if you have a pound or two to spare, I know he would be delighted to have a few more sponsors.

You can find out more by clicking this link

Thanks Oz, for all your help with the forum move, we couldn't have done it without you. xx

As Pippa has said above, Oz is one of the people who helps to keep our forum running behind the scenes, and has been working hard to get us to this shiny new set-up.
For those familiar with the concept, Judgement Day is like a 'Tough Mudder' event. It is a team race, but in addition to running there are really hard obstacles to overcome, some of which are impossible without assistance from other racers. He really will be earning the money :)
You can see a video of what he's up against here.

Thank you so much Pip, and everyone else. I'm truly amazed at how much support I've had in this. I optimistically thought I might be able to raise a few hundred pounds for a cause that is obviously very close to my heart. But thanks to the amazing generosity of so so many people I have managed to get to over a thousand pounds so far.

I can't stress how much this money is needed, no-one knows anything at all about LCH. They don't even know what sort of disease it is. To put it in cotext my son had as much chance of being killed by a meteor as contracting it. Every single penny will go to help find out more about this horrible condition and how to stop it destroying more lives.

I really can't stress how much this means to me, thank you so much.

Here is Ned blowing you a kiss.

This morning I got up at the crack of dawn and headed off with a few friends to the MOD land in Bordon. I ran 12Km, swung across things, crawled under things (through very cold mud), climbed over stuff, jumped across things, dragged stuff, carried stuff, and even walked half a mile through a bloody freezing lake in water up to my neck whilst carrying a 25Kg sandbag on my shoulders.

It hurt a lot, and I left some skin behind, but I finished the race. Thanks to all the amazing people who sponsored me I managed to raise over £1800 for Histio UK. I am so grateful, and really can't express how much the support you have shown me matters. There were official photograpgers scattered all over the course, so as soon as they are up for me to access I will post some pictures for you to see.

    Thanks again.

    Oz

Sounds as if you earned every penny of that £1800+. Well done on completing the course and raising such a fantastic sum of money.
