Re: The 10 biggest misconceptions about guide dogs for the blind I liked that. This bit: that ear-piercing scream a kid lets out as your dog's big tongue slurps the kid's face, and the mom storms away. Hey, your kid wanted to pet Nash, and Nash wanted to lick your kid. He’s a dog -- what did you expect? Charlie is a licker - big time. He has a fierce ambition to lick the ears of anyone he meets. Some people find it alarming. He does a sort of climb up the body to get to the ear thing. If you are sitting down, it's impossible to get away. People want to cuddle and play with Charlie, but expect me to be able to give him a single command that means he will stop trying to eat their ears. Great, next time someone plays with Charlie I'm just going to say the cost is you get your ears licked. If you object, don't play with my dog.
Re: The 10 biggest misconceptions about guide dogs for the blind Such an interesting read I agree with Julie about the licking....that bit was so true of Harley too ;D
Re: The 10 biggest misconceptions about guide dogs for the blind When Lady was a pup she had a thing about ears too. The problem was that the lick was quickly followed by a playful but really painful nip! She still has a thing about ears but thankfully the nipping has stopped/ ;D Nice article.
Re: The 10 biggest misconceptions about guide dogs for the blind Thanks Roz, nice article - I've shared it on our facebook page too.
Re: The 10 biggest misconceptions about guide dogs for the blind Wow, your most welcome as always .... am more of an interesting stuff finder than a hoarder
