Has anyone got any experience/advice/opinions on food from this supplier: The Dogs Dinner Delivered Food looks good quality at reasonable rates. I'm looking at other options from Chudleys that we've been using as that's what the breeder used (Ozzy now 5 months) but looks like that doesn't have the best ingredients Can't really afford the £50 per bag for some of the premium makes! Any help gratefully received!
Re: The Dogs Dinner Delivered I persoanlly would not buy that food, but that is due to having a dog who is allergic to grains in dog food, and all of there food contains grain. To me that food is very similar to chudleys. There is much better foods out there, although they cost more to buy, the RDA is a lot lower so a bag would last longer, and it would work out cheaper. A few of these include: Taste of the wild, orijen, acana, applaws, eden, millies wolfheart and purizon. These foods are mostly grain free but they also have a very high meat content, and they do not conatin meat and animal derivatives or cereals. Even better than dry food is raw food, i am a convert from dry food to raw food as it is very simple once you have got the hand of it and you know exactly what your dog is eating, you can DIY or commercial raw food, some good commercial raw food includes: Natural instinct, Nutriment and wolftucker. Food all comes down to what suits your dog and your budget, some dogs are ok with grains in there food, but cereals and grains are added fillers in dog food as dogs do not need them, the cheaper the food the more cereals and grains there will be in to make it cheaper, you also need to look carfully at what other ingridents are in there things such as meat and animal derivatives conatin all parts of animals, some food have been know to have chicken feathers in their food. Have a look at this website http://www.whichdogfood.co.uk/ you can see what other people think of the food's and it is easy to compare foods. Chudleys only manages to score half marks or less on this website, so it is not that great a food, and there are much better foods that score 5 out of 5 and have high meat content, hypoalergenic, no cereals and has a complete list of ingridents used.
Re: The Dogs Dinner Delivered I've looked on that comparison site - very useful by the way! - and the food at Dogs Dinner Delivered seems to compare very well with much more expensive foods. For the puppy food its about £31 for a 15Kg bag, and thats delivered! Might just give it a go, but if anyones got any experience of them I'd be a bit more reassured to hear an opinion before I commit.

[/quote] This is quite true, one of the most expensive brands (and the one I use, after a lot of thought and research) - Royal Canin. But don't dismiss dog food from feathers as rubbish - this is what Royal Canin say about it: http://www.forbes.com/sites/marcbab...made-from-feathers-a-win-win-for-royal-canin/ "You might be surprised, but feather meal is actually not cheaper because breaking it down to amino acid level is a costly process. In fact, feather meal is more expensive than chicken meat. Last year we had a hard time getting enough feather meal from suppliers." It was actually a very expensive research project for Royal Canin to produce the dog food made from feathers - the result is a sustainable food, which might be very suitable for some dogs...
