Every night before I settle down for the evening I pop to the bathroom in our bungalow. Once there I grab some toilet roll to clean my glasses with. Once, only the once, I dropped it and The DivaDog grabbed it and charged into the lounge to give it to Hubby who swapped it for a couple of Little Liver Treats. Am sure you can guess .... yes this is now a nightly routine where she hassles me to give her some. But, I can't have a pe in peace any more as she lurks behind the door whinging and complaining every time Anyone else do those odd little never planned type things with their dogs?
Re: Those funny little things we do with our dogs We made a bit of a mistake by siting the kibble bin in our downstairs loo..it's a new downstairs loo you see. Now everytime I visit the loo, Benson just has to barge in! ;D
Re: Those funny little things we do with our dogs Oh yes, I started giving Charlie the corner of my toast in the morning, Hattie & Charlie are not allowed in the kitchen when we are eating, so now of course, Charlie keeps popping his head round the door looking at me for his toast, when I give it to him he goes to bed : x
Re: Those funny little things we do with our dogs I have Harley an empty toilet roll to play with when she was younger. She now goes into the bathroom, knocks the toilet roll off and leaves it if it has tissue on, pinches it if only a small amount or empty!

In fact, I am sure she knows when I put the toaster plug on now as it still has a set of lights attached from christmas (they looked pretty ) - they know, you know :
Re: Those funny little things we do with our dogs We once gave Obi an almost-empty yoghurt container to lick out and now he is obsessed with getting hold of almost-empty yoghurt containers. We only have one a week but he knows when the yoghurt has almost run out.
Re: Those funny little things we do with our dogs milly has not ever got on the sofa but recently oh has let her on the one in the conservatory when i go out shopping and he is in charge now when she sees me sitting in her place she tries to get me to move by half sitting on me and pushing men are not good at keeping to the rules i think
Re: Those funny little things we do with our dogs Dad has started having a biscuit before he goes to bed and behind my back he gave a piece to Meg. Every night now when I give Dad his biscuit, she sits there looking lovingly at him. When she first did it I couldn't work out why she was doing that, (she's been trained just to lie down when we're eating). Sheepish look from Dad (he's 92 next month) who admitted that he shared a biscuit with her. Oh well at her age I now turn a blind eye. ;D ;D

Re: Those funny little things we do with our dogs Well my fault but a couple of naughtyish habits, Otis waits for me to finish eating and then put down the plate so he can lick it clean, I do then put it in the dishwasher. Yogourt pot licker here too, he loves it, chews it a bit too, once Ive had my yogourt though and its empty xx
Re: Those funny little things we do with our dogs yes toilet rolls empty if i dont bin them quick milly takes them to her bed i have just got her a crate for night as we have had lots of problems with her at night before that when i got up in the mornig she would have lots of things in bed with her tea towels spoons used tea bags the cats blanket off the top of the freezer i put down water in the cats bowl and water in the dogs bowl and milly drinks the cats water
Re: Those funny little things we do with our dogs Holly brings me my slippers when I get home, or when we get back from a walk. She'll get very excited waiting for the command "slippers" then she'll run off to find them. When she's brought the second one she'll sit and wait for her treat.

Re: Those funny little things we do with our dogs No, she picked it up very quickly. We started by throwing the slippers a few feet and rewarding her when she brought one. After a few days I put them in the next room where she could see them, and more rewards when she brought one. Over a few days I moved them further away. After two weeks she was waiting for the command when I came home. She fetches my wife's slippers too.
