Charlie always stays inside the house or in the balcony. He has never stepped outside and only goes to the vet for vaccines. Today i was thinking to start taking him out after his last vaccination tomorrow and suddenly i saw a tick/flea on the floor and i stood still with horror "Not again!!!!"
This is the third time i saw these ticks/fleas on him or on the floor. I have sprayed him then and there each time.
What i dont understand is how these bugs come on him when hes not even going out yet????
We don't have any carpet or anything just tiles floor all over and i live on 9th Floor. My home gets mopped with disinfectant daily along with balconies. And i wash his bedding time to time too then from where these bugs come ????
I saw 3-4 brown bugs today on floor and im so very tensed now i don't understand what can i do to save my home and mt pet from these monster bugs?????
    Please help!!!!

What are you spraying him with, Ana? Ask your vet for a proper flea and tick treatment for your dog if he needs them.

The bugs might not be fleas or ticks. If they are and your pup cannot have picked them up outside then they are in your house for other reasons, perhaps brought into the apartment block by other animals (cats or mice or humans).

Your pup is 14 weeks old now, and has never been out of your apartment? You really need to take every opportunity to socialise him as soon as you can. If you haven't even taken him out in your arms to see other dogs, traffic and so on do be careful how you approach taking him out for the first time and read up on socialising puppies before you go.

Also, don't expect him to walk nicely on a collar and lead outside. A puppy harness would be safer.

The spray was given to me by my vet.
May b you are right they might be not ticks or fleas as its rainy season here so might be some rainy bugs as i dont have any mouse/mice/dog in our around my area (9th floor)

He goes outside in my arms only and not on foot as i dont wanted him to catch any infection or so. And on leash he walks at home in it for few mins twice daily so hez used to it already.

So after his vaccination today i'll be taking him out on his own on leash.

    Hi Ana,
I know we all live in different areas and so have different bugs and creepies to deal with but I've never known a vet suggest a spray rather than a 'spot on ' ( the little plastic pipettes that you squeeze onto their skin along their spine) for fleas and ticks.I also had quite a bad time last year with Dexter having sore and irritated ears and I'm convinced the start of that was ear mites that my t 'spot on ' treatment wasn't protecting him from,....I'd check with your vet that you have got the right protection.
Some of the brand names you will hear are Frontline ( my vet isn't a fan though as she says most things in Dubai are now resistant to it) Revolution ,I use this product very effectively ,Advantix....there are many more ,they are just a few that I know.
Good luck with socializing Charlie,it's really important to let them get out and about and meeting the world x
