Red is 1 today - she should be giving a nice day. We can’t go training. She has had diarrhoea since Tuesday night and I thought I could sort it. Pro Kolin and Hills i/d food have done the trick in the past but not this time. The last 3 nights she has whimpered and we have taken her out. Last night it was 3 times. This morning she has gone 4 more times - it is just pouring out of her. I have stopped the Pro Kolin and just given her a bit of i/d as she’s hungry. We are off to the vets this afternoon - they didn’t have a morning appointment.

We have had so many diarrhoea episodes since we got her but for a long time she has been good. This is now really upsetting me.

She is such a good girl - I hate seeing her like this.

Poor girl, and poor you -it’s both upsetting and tiring when they’re ill. I hope the vet can sort out Red’s stomach and get her feeling better soon. x

Sorry Red is so poorly, on her birthday as well. Fingers crossed the vet can sort her out quickly, for your sake too.

Do you think she might have picked up a bug rather than her usual tummy issues or is she usually sick too?

Nothing conclusive. Just taken poo samples to test for giardia - vet said there’s a lot about - that will take 2 weeks for results. Red has been sick and had diarrhoea all afternoon. Vet said she can eat but she doesn’t want to. I have never seen her so poorly - never been sick like this. She has lost weight and the vet says too skinny. We also have to go out this evening although I will go later and return earlier - it’s something we have organised so can’t just not go. All a bit of a nightmare.

Oh dear , I really am so very sorry, poor little love . The worry must be getting you down too , I think we can cope with most things, if we know what they are and how to handle them , hugs x

Oh so sorry to hear that. If it is giardia it's just horrible, Monty had it as a pup and it's a right faff to get rid of. Just thinking, has Red been tested for it previously? It can come and go sometimes (it did for a few months with Monty before we got a diagnosis) and lull you into a false sense of security that it's cleared up.
