Does ANYONE have experience with a rehomed Labrador? I have a 2 y/o British Yellow boy from a very reputable breeder I have used for my other labs. His previous owner did a lot of obedience with him and he is very well trained in that. He has a strong retrieving instinct but I am acting as if he's a puppy and we are just play retrieving in the house and some outside. No steadying just play. 4 maybe 5 tosses and then I put it away. He is definitely bonded to me and we have a great trusting relationship. Just wondering if anyone else has done this and had success. What are the drawbacks. If he's not a hunting dog that's fine, it's not my primary role for him but it would be nice for him and for me.

    Hi Kevin,

    Welcome to the forum :)

I'm afraid I don't have any experience of my own, but I wanted to give your post a little bump.

It sounds like you're doing a wonderful job already!
