Bella us 4.5 months and is sleeping 10 hours at night in crate - sometimes on mattress outside crate. (In laundry leading to outside). I have introduced her to kennel by putting in toys and treats but she not interested in resting in kennel. I am thinking of moving crate to just out the door onto concrete area with one of the crate door over entrance to kennel Any thoughts as to whether this is good idea. The weather is warmer st night now and we think she should be ok.

By kennel you mean an outdoors enclosure? Why are you wanting that?

I think very few labs would truly be happy sleeping outside the home, especially without other dogs. They’re a breed that wants to be with their humans.

Thanks for your thoughts. By kennel I mean portable resting place similar to crate but with solid walls, rood and floor but opening in front for dog to enter and exit. Where we live the word ‘kennel’ is used to describe this. Our previous lab was very happy with this set up and lived until 15 with us.
