Sam has been to the woods twice today where he charges through the undergrowth with no hesitation . When we came back this morning , I noticed a tiny drop of blood on his bed , had a good look at him and couldnt see anything . Then this afternoon , when I called him up, blood was coming from his nose , so off to the Vets , he has a cut inside his nose, most likely caused by his charging headlong into briars and rough ground after his dummy . No treatment , apart from " try to keep him a little calm for a few days to stop agitation and help healing " Right , I`ll explain that to Sam then ::) Whilst there, he was weighed and is a whopping 35 kilos , no fat on him but at 20 months, we had noticed him filling out in the chest and front regions plus hind quarters , what a lump :)

Poor Sam :( A sore nose, AND his mum calling him a lump!
Think he needs a little treat to make him feel better.....eh Sam? :)

He sounds so lovely Kate. :D Such a lovely kind boy. You must love him very much!

My old Bones also weighed 35 kg, with no fat on him at all. Little Poppy weighs 23.6 kg...

That is little Karen. Digby was 22.2 kg, weighed on a visit to vets this week, and only 6 months.

    Rileys only 25kgs and he's nearly 2 so I don't think he'll get much heavier! :)

Our first Lab was 35kg and lean. Our current boy is 24kg - he seems tiny!!!

I hope that Sam's nose is healing up well. I bet he got out of the offending briar patch quick smart. I agree that treats are in order ;)

One little lab at our training class only weighs 19 kg! But she and Poppy are the keenest retrievers of the whole group... ;D

I find it hard to think that he weighs that much because he is slim, has a well defined waistline, can feel but not see ribs . I guess muscle weighs more than fat and he has got big bones and muscles but is also quite tall . At a glance you`d think he weighed about 30 kilos max . Big lumux :)

Lady's brother, Milo, is about half as big again as Lady and is 38 kg. Not an ounce of excess weight on him, just much bigger.
