For those of us uk puppy people, theres a 2 part documentary on tuesday bbc2 at 8pm following 6 households which take on new puppies. Should be worth a watch!

My two love TV of any kind, although nature shows are their favourite. They were enthralled by a show about meerkats yesterday :)

What a wind up! Did the BBC specifically choose people that would irritate? More than irritate at times; did they research? Prepare? I daren't say more as I might break some internet law! Am I being horribly judgemental? I actually found some of it upsetting.

sorry, spoiler alert to those who haven't watched yet.

I thought the content was disappointing. It wasn't a true picture of early weeks at home with crying in the night, toilet training attempts, getting feeding right, early socialisation pre jabs etc. It just left me thinking 'what was the point of that' really.

It just goes to show how ignorant people are about owning a dog, the woman who had the 'aggressive pup' who wasn't going to have it put down YET!!! It really was an irritating programme, though thinking about it maybe it will bring to the public consciousness that puppies are hard work. They should all read Pippa's book before they are allowed to take a puppy home ;D

I very much fear this is one of those programs just made to make money. I thought it was dreadful and misleading and will not be watching the second part.

I was going to watch it, but watched Holby instead, glad i did now. Otis has taken to barking at any animal on Tv, he gets all excited, we love watching animal programmes together. Maggie xx

Just watched the programme on catch up.

How frustrating? It does annoy me when people take on a certain breed and don't research into what that breed needs i.e exercise and mental stimulation.

The lady who purchased a pup at 8 weeks so the children can learn about life cycles! How short term does she think owning a puppy is? The pet corrector, it was obvious she hadn't done any of the "normal" steps to discourage this behaviour.

Agh! Some people can be so annoying. Sorry if I have come across judgmental, that was not my aim just found the programme very frustrating. I will be tuning in next week to make sure that poor little Byron hasnt been put down!

Agree, awful people - I was nearly shouting at the TV. And expecting a ten year old boy to take chief responsibility for a puppy, sigh that poor dog desperate to get out to toilet and all those dangerous wires it could chew. And as for the stupid woman with the pet spray...
