Ella and I attended our first obedience trial since we took a break back in September.

We managed two passes and Ella got her Rally Advanced title!!

She was fantastic in the morning trial, scoring 94 and 2nd place (out of 19) The arvo trial was a little more sloppy (both from her and I) due to the heat but we managed a 90 and 4th place (out of 13).

And the best part.... She was happy in the ring!!!! All of the work over the last seven months paid off today:)

The rally advanced course is off lead. Here are the two courses for the day:

Honestly, not really. I just focussed on a really solid drop and started working on the speed of the drop (increased excitement, making the change of position a game). Once she was dropping reliably and quickly, it was easier to put the movement into it.

The next stations to learn are going to be tricky. They include a moving stand/sit/drop, leave and walk around dog. The hard part will be getting her to either stand, sit or drop and then I have to get her to stay while I walk around her and return to heel position BUT I can't break pace for the start of the stay o_O

Not that we will ever do rally obedience, but thanks for giving me the idea to try this one. Always looking for new manoeuvres to teach Coco, keeping him engaged.
