Hi all Will be getting our black labbie puppy in a month (SOOO VERY EXCITED!!) and just gathering puppy things, have a crate, some toys and a travel crate too and lots of paper roll, and off to get doggie bowls, more toys, kongs, collar and lead, baby gate this weekend (any advice on any of these things greatly appreciated or anything essential and must have things for a new pup) googling vetbed and feeling overwhelmed by all the different companies that sell vetbed, anyone recommend a particular brand that worked for them, there seems to be the Original Vet Bed from Petlifeonline and other sorts on Amazon, so getting confused, some reviews are great and others less so...buy a roll or a few pieces to fit in the crate? What vet bed make and supplier do any of you recommend?? We are UK based! Thanks all! Julie
Of you are based in Europe Zooplus is a great site for most things you need for your dog. Where I come from toys, food, beds, crates...are very expencive, or impossible to get. So I buy there food, toys, beds there. The only thing that is bad, is you can't choose a color of toys, collars, leads....
That’s very exciting! Vetbed on a roll is probably the best choice and is available from Amazon as the original Vetbed, which washes and wears very well. There are also other makes and designs. You can cut it to size, so it’s more economical than buying ready-sized pieces - and definitely have more than one piece, in case of accidents! My dogs have Vetbed in the crates, in their day beds and also in the boot of the car, as it absorbs the mud (!) and is easy to wash. You could also buy or make a small microwavable wheat bag, as it may well be cooler when you get your puppy and will give it a bit of warmth/comfort. Get plenty of sleep in the next four weeks!
Beware buying cheap vetbed some can become very thin once washed a few times. I would recommend http://profleece.com/ I've pieces of their vetbed that must be 15yrs old and still going strong.
Aww thanks all, super great advice and links on Vetbed (and getting sleep too!!), much much appreciated!! We had a most wonderful morning today choosing our wee girl, the breeders were amazing with us, giving us lots of time and we chose one of the gorgeous black girls, she is just perfect and beautiful, my heart is bursting with joy, love and happiness..a dream come true, to have a black labbie girl of our own!
