Hi. Bit of a long shot but can anyone recommend a good vet in Glasgow?
If not can anyone suggest questions you might ask a potential new vet to see if they're any good or not?
    Thanks.

I don't know if this helps, but I've actually heard really good reports about the Pets at Home in store vets. I know that's not the obvious choice, but I think a few people on the forum use them and are very happy, my dog walker uses them, and several of her clients - they all rave about the service they get.

Hi. I actually spoke to them last night at the out of town one here. They were really nice and helpful and told me what to do today with my own vet (haha Grrrrr apoplectic) but they only deal with small animals ie rabbits and stuff. I guess that's just our branch. Thanks anyway. Off to find a glass of wine...

Hi Rosamund, I asked my nephew's wife who they use. She used to work at kennels and has had a retriever and now a spaniel. Here's her reply -
"I've used Champion Vets for Cleo because they do Groupon vouchers and I've been really impressed with them. They have a few branches - I use Paisley Road West.
For all my many cats I've always used Queen's Crescent. they are one of the older well-known practices. Great care but much more pricey. Hope that helps."

Hope you find someone you feel comfortable with and can trust :)

I tend to just go into the surgery and have a chat with the nurses and vet, never had anyone complain about it and have managed over the years to find some lovely vets. Often seeing how the nurses are gives a good insight into how the vet will be too.

Good advice and recommendations. Thanks a lot! Have a list of vets to ring up and see how they are. Then I'll visit a few I suppose. I knew there'd be some Glaswegians hiding on here somewhere!
My current vet surgery surpassed itself again today. Really fed up.
    Thanks folks!
