Amy and I go to bed between 10 and 1030. She is normally whiny by about 6. I am wondering is she still to young to be expected to be able to go longer without needing to go out? Hubby up for work about 630 anyway. But still.....30 minutes extra sleep for me would be nice!
Re: wake up times. I think it varies hugely dog to dog. Charlie has been going 10.30pm / 11pm to 6am for a while now (he is 6 months). Last night, he went for a wee at 8.30pm, then didn't wee at 11pm (very unusual), and we got up at 6am. No accident. So he went 10 hours without a wee. I think I'll be getting up at 6.30am in future! Do you think she is whiney because she is desperate for a wee, or just because she wants to be up and at it?
Re: wake up times. jasper is 8 month today, each week i have gone later and later,....i am up now its 7 32, he as not been fed yet, normally i feed him as soon as i get up,....when i got up he as bust 2 cushions ( AGAIN ) my fault for leaving them out .....he is sat here sulking he knows he as done wrong, so just letting him know its not all about him.......oh i am being mean today ......will feed him at 7 45
Re: wake up times. Oooooh Lynne, you've changed!so mean, making him wait for 13 minutes he he he! Jade,Does she dash out desperate to wee at 6am?or is she just being a mischief?im not the best to comment on this as we are so dictated to by the weather.Dex goes to bed 10.30pm latest.....he could go 7 -7.5 hours at 5 months but weed immediately when we let him out.Now he starts getting restless as it gets light (5am) ,he doesn't want a wee,he just knows that his big walk is coming before it gets too hot I get up To him at 5.15 so thankyou very much for ALL of you telling me about your LIE INs! However Jade ,he is still crated at 11 months, when we got back from our first time leaving him,he'd got himself into a nice little habit of whining to be let out as it gets light...(nearer to 4.30 then ) he didn't want a wee,I think what happened was his sitter when we were away used to hear him moving about and was scared he needed to go out so was letting him out at 4.30 am.....so he expected nothing less when we got back.....I did 2 mornings of tough love, the second with a couple of stern 'DEXTER'S ' from the top of the stairs and he packed it in..... Funny you have brought this up today though as we left Dexters crate door open last night.....just to see what he would do.Its still big enough for him but he fills it now....he was doing a very quiet whine when I came down this morning and standing by his gate that separates his room......I think he slept on the tiles too as his bed looked more or less the same as I arranged it last night at bedtime.....I don't like to think of him doing that so I might try him tonight with his tv bed in there and see what happens.I don't now if I'm being silly thinking he needs to be out of it ,he doesn't mind it at all,in fact he will go and get in it for some peace when my sister is here with the children and we dont need the space,I just felt like he was old to still be locked up in it at night
Re: wake up times. i have been mean this morning angela he knows what he as done wrong,....i know it could be worse, he as never chewed any thing more than cushions, i have banned soft toys as i thought this was encouraging him to munch the cushions, he as had free run of the down stairs from being 4 month old,.......i took a massive gamble letting him out of the crate, ........he wont sleep on a bed , he as choice of the settee or floor, most times when i get up he is on the floor, seems to be fine with that ........i am gutted that he don't sleep on a bed, he prefers to just burst them, we have made friends now,
Re: wake up times. Ah Lynne,I knew you'd be pals before long!i do know he drives you maaaaaaaaddddd with his cushion munching though too!they are funny sleeping on the floor aren't they ?i know Dexter goes for the tiles when he is hot but we always have ac on so don't know whay he would choose it over a nice comfy blanket at night ,funny thing he is!
Re: wake up times. why oh why does he want to burst cushions and beds is beyond me .....will it ever stop ?
Re: wake up times. I will try leaving her a bit. She does wee/poo straight away but after a sniff about first. used to the early mornings with the young boys....but can you believe they have started to sleep longer now!!!!
Re: wake up times. She was up at 5 today! Tried leaving her but she was making a different noise to normal. (howling). Took her out to check her and she had a sniff about and toilet. I put her back in bed until 645. Will leave her next time, was just because of the different noise I got up. My son said he could see lights in his room about the same time so maybe there was a car outside waking them both up.
