Little cutie pie Amy has discovered a bit of loose wall paper. Which is a great interest to her! Wish me luck and nerves of steel!
Re: Wallpaper. Ah the 'cutie pie ' said between gritted teeth Jade.....good luck....was it time for a change anyway x
Re: Wallpaper. oh no ......i got lucky with that one.....i have no wallpaper .....phewwww just painted walls ,....jade amy is just behind jasper in age and he as just started to grow up sort of
Re: Wallpaper. I shut the door so she couldn't get to it and she was whinning and pacing. Let her out for a test, straight to the paper. And to think I was upset at the tiny puppy paw prints! We knew the house would take a battering, all needs a redecorating anyway.
Re: Wallpaper. Sorry, Lynne. Painted walls are no defence. See http://black-labrador.blogspot.co.uk/2012/09/and-what-do-you-do-on-saturday.html for what I ended up doing . Granted it was a little extreme. Copydex is very good for reattaching those lovely, tempting edges, although it's somewhat difficult (I mean b****y impossible) to get off when you redecorate ;D Kerryn
Re: Wallpaper. oh my word kerryn.....my house is about 15n ish year old....the plaster is all dry with just emulsion on.....not noticed any flaky bits ......i have noticed some dirty bits where he leans against my magnolia walls........i always seem to be on my hands and knees cleaning the walls
Re: Wallpaper.
Little cutie pie Amy has discovered a bit of loose wall paper. Which is a great interest to her! Wish me luck and nerves of steel!
Good luck and may the Force be with you! We are getting measured up for new carpet tomorrow. When we we at the carpet shop last weekend choosing a carpet type the salesman asked us what colour we wanted. Hubby said "Yellow Labrador" and I said "Dirt". Ah, doggies.....
Re: Wallpaper. good luck with the new carpets ...... i have laminate floors, got to hoover 3 times a day with all the black hairs grrrr
Re: Wallpaper. I am failing....hubby said get her a ladder and let her strip it all. ( we hate it anyway, painted over the wall paper with red but both hated). We have been here 4 years, needs alot of work. But everything we have dine needs doing again already. So we gave up until kids got older....then we got Amy.
Re: Wallpaper. i am sure all this mischief stops SOON I HOPE .......its like having 4 babies in the house, you need eyes in the back of your head
Re: Wallpaper. Speaking of household destruction... We had an old, circular, 1940's mirror that we were going to put up on the wall last weekend. We'd taken it out of storage and it was leaning against a bookshelf, waiting to be put up. Except someone got a toy caught behind it.... I had already removed the larger pieces of glass when I took this pic. The round timber thing is the backing for the mirror. Was the backing for the mirror.... No Labradors were harmed in this episode.
Re: Wallpaper. Oops! It could have been mice? Poor Obi always gts the blame ;D ;D Jade you sound like you're in the same boat as us. Everything needs doing! We have the same hall carpet since we moved in and its almost threadbare - BUT disguises thhe dirt! It started of "we will get a new one when kids are older" . Now its ."it will just be ruined by the dog" : Personally I think its my OH who drags most dirt in but hey ho! One of these days I will have a nice house (again) ;D Jac
Re: Wallpaper. my sister pops round often...last week she said i love coming here now , huh why,.....? thought she meant to see my lovely jasper,...no,......sister , when i used to come here i was scared to touch any thing it was that clean, now i feel at home grrrrr
Re: Wallpaper. We keep saying we will get a new kitchen carpet, but then there's always another dog or puppy so we'll do it after that one but then there's an old-timer with a little leak so we'll hang on a bit and oh-ho there's another puppy. One day! An update on the doghouse wall, we actually got the plaster analysed (well, the vets did, we really were that desperate about poor old Finn) and it's absolutely fine, no nasty toxins of any sort, so the splodges are still there now scratched to pieces by Hebe as the pink painted nails nicely prove but Finn must have been clearing up after her as there are now dust patches below the scratching zones. Along with the new kitchen carpet one day we will replaster and maybe even tile it all - for now there's the small matter of some quite large wandering damp patches to deal with (builders in next month).
Re: Wallpaper. Glad that there was nothing nasty in that plaster Kerryn, relief We said we were having a new sitting room carpet about 4 years ago , the timing is never right is it ?
Re: Wallpaper. Ok Rachael on the upside you have a good solid template to re glass ...but blimey, Obi, danger!ive laughed at the dirty/ yellow lab carpet colour, ill sign up for that!you can Hoover and Hoover and the evidence is still there ....but you know .... What the heck !
Re: Wallpaper. Ah wallpaper. Carpets. I remember those days. Hang on, no I don't! We're always 'planning' on decorating too. I seem to remember the last 2 times we had saved up for it, we bought a pup instead, after which it hardly seemed worth doing. We have grease on the corner of the living room wall, from 3 different height dogs too, lovely. Not washable paint, so doesn't come off very well either. Well, it like having heights of your children on the door frame isn't it. Nice. x
Re: Wallpaper. now come on guys.....i have eased off with the cleaning :.......not done any painting from getting jasper,......it all as got to be done in the next 6 month, i hate stains on walls :'(.......the whole of my house is /was magnolia :'(......do they sleep more in winter grrrr its got to be done
