Gosh, that's a snappy title isn't it! I posted the message below on the 'Cannock Chase' thread a couple of days ago, but thought I would set it up as a new thread to catch people's attention Honestly I have neglected to do any sort of further searching for a walk for the Midlands....but I am happy to 'co-ordinate' a walk to meet up near me which I know is a very safe off lead woodland walk with a few streams and a pool close to a pub in Bentley Woods nr. Atherstone / Ridge Lane. My restriction is that Monty can only really walk for up to an hour and 20 minutes in one go - so accept that's not enough for some - however this walk offers a number of circular trips so anyone wanting more could hop back in the woods for another hour if you wanted more, taking a different route. It's close to the A5, (and M6, M42 exits) , so if you are interested, let me know and I'll try and co-ordinate a meeting on a weekend in August (pref after 10.00 Sundays!) @SwampDonkey is already up for it, anyone else interested in joining us - a few people from the Cannock Chase thread expressed a possible interest - @Angela Gough @Aimee Lawrence @Jyssica (might be too far for you though?) and I think @Pilatelover you are in Coventry so might be interested? Let me know if you are interested with dates you can do and I'll try and pick the one that suits most of us Couple of pics of the woods in both autumn and spring:
I happy to work round any dates weekends are best for me and I have to visit elderly relatives once a month.
Sorry, yes it would be too far for you, .... though if you are ever passing through (that's what the Midlands are for, I think, a series of motorways to get to more interesting places!) with Stanley on the way somewhere else give us a shout ...
@leejane without a doubt I would love to join you. Somehow I managed to miss the Cannock Chase thread so thanks for creating this new post. Mabel can realistically only walk for an hour and a half. I am happy to fit in with other people. I have just taken a look at my calendar and I'm away on the weekend of 12th August and then in The Lake District 30th Sept to 7th October but apart from that I'm free. I sound like Billy no mates
That's great! a short walk suits @SwampDonkey too as she can bring Moo then, and as I said, that's all Monts can do too. We could name the group 'dogs with dodgy joints' rather than a geographical name
A short walk say 1hour ish will be ideal for the DDJ and my geriatric none of the dog know each other so a short get to know session will be ideal
This is a lovely idea. I'm normally based in Warwickshire but will be in Norfolk for most of the summer. I'll keep an eye on this thread though, as depending on the dates I may be able to join you - would love to meet some forum friends & dogs!
Oooh exciting, someone else local! When are you back in Norfolk? Was thinking towards the end of August to meet up..
@SwampDonkey @Pilatelover Shall we go for Sunday 20th, 11 am? @blackandwhitedog - not sure if you are around that weekend?
