Do your dogs do this? Willow will often wade into a body of water and immediately squat for a wee. Shadow has done it a couple of times, but for Willow, it's almost every time she finds some water that is ankle deep or more. When we were in the UK, she did it several times in the Thames - once causing a woman to absolutely bust a gut laughing because she'd never seen anything like it before. I figure it's just like a kid weeing in the bath or swimming pool.

It always makes me laugh, but do your dogs do it or do I have a complete nut-nut? :)

I have to say that Lilly does this.
But unfortunately she VERY frequently also does a poop particularly at the beach.
Aaarrghh!.....even if I have my wellies on, retrieving a poop from the sea, or a river is not that easy!
    Poor show Lilly.
Thankfully it has never happened at a beach where there are children around, or people in the water. I know that doesn't mean its okay, but I don't have a poop on command cue so I think I would have a hard job training her not to do this.

Charlie used to wee constantly at the beach. Didn't stop moving to wee, just did what we called a "walk and wee" - all the time. But, he did grow out of it. He likes to poo on rotting seaweed and can spend 20 minutes searching for the perfect pile, usually on the high water line, so I don't have the problem of poo in the water thankfully.

Obi wees in paddling pools and on the dog drinker at the dog park... Once we were swimming at the river along with about 30 other people and the same number of dogs and he pooed in the water, right near a family and their small children. It is really difficult and embarrassing trying to pick up poo with a poo bag in a flowing river.

    Oh Obi!!
The first time we took Mira to the beach she was about 3 months old. We spent ages before we actually got down to the beach trying to get a poo out of her to no avail. When we went on to the beach she ran straight towards the sea, waded out and did a poo  Fortunately the beach was deserted. OH did laugh a lot as I tried to grab it as it was sucked out to sea by the waves

Mira is very fond of peeing in puddles. One track near us often has a string of puddles and she likes to go in every one

Oh yes - Tatze loves to wee in water!

Gypsy is a marvel and never, ever wees anywhere except in her spending area at home or on command.

    :)

French dogs obviously have more manners :p:p:p as Juno has never tried to wee in puddles or anything resembling a puddle or poo'd there either. As far as she is concerned puddles etc or solely for splashing, paddling or swimming

Must be the Andorran influence as they were removed from France when they were only babies :D:D

There was a black lab dog that did his pooped in the river Thames, from what I remember the owner let the water wash it away. Considering there is regular sewage overflow I don't think anybody minded.

YES! And I thought it was only Penny who did this! Thank god she's normal!

She's never had a poo in the water though.
