It would be cool if there was a welcome thread for new members to just say hi to all the existing members and explain their link to the community ect. being a new member might make me slightly biased in this way LOL. Anyway I'm based in Australia have owed two golden labs in the last twenty years have never been a member of a dog forum before but to be honest I just had to have the best friend i have ever had "put to sleep" and i felt i needed to make a connection to a group of people who would understand that she wasn't "just a dog" .
Look forward to chatting to members of being not an owner but a partner/best mate of the awesome dog know as the labrador.

There's a forum category "Introductions" just for this. I've moved your post there :)

Welcome to the forum. I'm so sorry that you've lost your dear friend. If you're up to it, we'd love to hear a bit more about her and see pictures if you have any to share.

I am so sorry to hear about your best friend. And if it helps, as Snowbunny says, feel free to talk about her.

So sorry to hear about the loss of your girl. She sounds a wonderful member of your family. They leave a big hole when they go.

Welcome to the forum - so sorry to hear about your loss. We all understand, and many of us have been there ourselves. It is very painful, and leaves a big hole in your life. But it does get a little easier to bear, and thinking about the good times and the happiness you shared will help.

    Welcome from me too.
So sorry to hear about your loss.
Lilly is my first dog so I haven't had to go through a pet loss such as this. I was bad enough to when we had to PTS our rabbit.
Have you seen our Rainbow bridge category?
We would love to hear more about Ellie if you would like to share with us.

Welcome to the forum. I am sorry for the lost of your friend. I have had to have my dog Robbie put to sleep in my arms and it is so painfully. He was a wonderful dog. Hope you can tell us more about Ellie when you feel it is the right time.

Same as Jacqui, Cooper is my first dog. So have not had to go through what you are going through. I can't even imagine this. So very sorry. But what wonderful memories you have.
Of course it's not the same as having her with you. Big hug.

Welcome from me and Bailey in Adelaide. Where in Australia are you? I am so sorry for your loss. We lost our beloved Cooper just over two years ago and the pain can still be overwhelming.
Bailey, while not a replacement in any way, brought back the love and companionship we'd lost when Cooper crossed the Rainbow Bridge.
