Vast, shallow sandy beach in West Sussex. Superb for swimming and dogs are allowed on parts of the beach in the summer see website . From October to April, you can walk anywhere with your dog. There is also a windsurfing club with good instructors and gear for hire. A fantastic way to keep teenagers occupied for a couple of hours. Loads of parking, but get there early in the summer as queues from the A27 can be horrendous. In the summer, we usually arrive early, and have breakfast on the beach. Then depart mid-morning just as everyone else is queueing the last three miles to get in.
Re: West Wittering Beach That's a great recommendation Pippa, and may well be making use of it in the summer! Maybe see you and Maggie there one day..
Re: West Wittering Beach I would need some warning - takes 8 1/2 hrs to drive approximately. Not including loo stops. I could pick Angela in Birmingham on the way down, which would add a little time too. Might need to get Julie to pick Lisa up though.
Re: West Wittering Beach Its OK Pippa - we are going to have a party up at Tentsmuir - will try and sort out a satellite link ;D ;D

Re: West Wittering Beach Merle comes from Crawley? I grew up in Horsham, and many of my family still live there
Re: West Wittering Beach Ah, small world! Yes, it was a bit of a trek back and forth, but well worth it.
