Now Pongo may not be the best-trained pup in the world :( , but the one thing he has always been very good at is 'sit'.

Until yesterday on our walk - excellent recall, but when asked to sit for his treat.... nothing. Standing staring up at me, with a look that said "I can't hear you and even if I could hear you I've never heard that word before and that hand signal means nothing to me and could I please just have that treat?"

    Same for OH.

Got him home, and the 'sit' is back - instant and perfect.

The reason.... he didn't want to get his bottom wet sitting on the wet muddy track. For heaven's sake! Next he'll be asking for a manicure and a diamante collar....

This is a dog who 14 weeks ago had never been inside a house, brought up in an outdoor kennel! And now he won't sit down on wet ground!

Bless him - he knows which side his toast is buttered on.

    ;D

Unlike Lady when I was standing in a field up to my ankles in standing water and she thought a treat was about to be offered and promptly sat in the water! ;D

Don't blame you Pongo. Just the thought of getting my bottom wet and muddy gives me the shivers too. :)

    Pongo the "princess" perhaps! ;D

Bless him, can't wait to see him again on Monday.

I did have a chuckle reading your post Rosie, I first read the bit about your OH...as it he wasn't sitting any more on command! ;D ;D

Ah, but that wouldn't be news....I've been trying for 22 years to get him to sit on command and no luck yet.
