My 2 pups are ESS 14weeks old and Labrador 16 weeks old and i am going to try and train these with the clicker training method. I Have trained my previous dogs wich i trial the traditional way and had some success with them so my question is which exercise do you start with i have loaded the clicker and got them touching hands and sitting so what next? and is there a training routine/plan that i could follow.

    Thanks in advance,

    Rawry.

Hello, and a very warm welcome. A spaniel pup and labrador pup at the same time? Wow.

Well, you can clicker train most things - so you can follow the path that you used for your previous dogs, but using positive reinforcement and clicker training if you want. Only, you can start things earlier.

If you wanted a good clicker based book for early basic obedience, Kay Lawrence's "the perfect foundation" is very good.
