Holly started on Skinners. We found that her poops were a bit runny so after a few weeks we changed to Hills. No problems since then.

Her official treats are the usual bonio, markies and other dog biscuits. Training treats are varied as we tend to buy whatever we can find, but we use bits of sausage, dried banana and cheese for special treats.

Unofficial treats include melon, ice cubes, little bits of ginger biscuit and whatever we have to hand when she's very good.

Harley was on bakers when she came to us! We changed her to Royal Canin Gastro, but since found out she is wheat intolerant so she is now on Bob and Lush (all natural ingredients) which is brilliant for her :)

I suggest you look around and read some of the ingredients and get as good as you can for your budget :)

We currently use Simpsons 80/20 which is a no grain product.
You might find This website useful which gives you information about the VAST range of foods on the market. Bear in mind that not everything will be available locally, and if you don't want to rely on mail order, then you will need to have a browse and see what your local store stocks.
It would make sense to carry on with the same food as your breeder used, at least for a few weeks, until your pup has settled in.

As far as treats are concerned, the sky's the limit ;D ;D ;D
Well, that is what Lilly tells me anyway ;)
She gets gravy bones at bedtime, but we find changing treats regularly is good. Sausages, cheese, smoked sausage, bits of leftover roast meat are pretty much staples, but we also like treats from Pooch's (especially fish fingers) and crispy fish skins (like fish4dogs sea jerky)

I use Royal Canin, which is why his breeder used, and I just stuck with it.

I pretty much stick to fish4dogs for treats - sea biscuits, seawraps, salmon strips. Unless I need serious big gun treats - roast chicken, roast beef, and sardines.

    Thanks guys.

I can't remember what she is feeding the pup but she is giving us a bag of food. Looking at a few sites gain isn't on any I think it's an Irish company. I am in Ireland csj seems to have good ratings ?

Dexter arrived on Eukanuba puppy,I changed him to Royal Canin Maxi Puppy, then RC gastro intestinal puppy, then RC Adult Gastro intestinal......he has a very sensitive tummy .
Treats are steamed chicken, roast chicken skin removed ( served warm to up the value if I need to) and now he seems ok to have Fish 4 Dogs sea biscuits......I break one up into 8 and they are perfect size for mixing in his kong mix or for clicker sessions x

Molly came from the Breeders on Royal Canin.

I am in the process of changing her to James Wellbeloved Turkey and Rice kibble. No reflection on Royal Canin, but my last dog, Holly, ate JWB with gusto for over 13 years so I have a soft spot for it.

Holly had come from the Rescue Centre on another food and this cute little puppies wind would make your eyes water and bring strong men to their knees. James Wellbeloved solved that problem in 1 day for which I will be eternally gratefull

As my surname is Skinner, I wish I owned the company :) My one dog is on Natures Menu for Working Dogs which is frozen raw meats, vegs and maize and Rourke is on Fromm Gold. I quiet fancy the Skinner's Salmon and Rice Kate but concerned about 'nasties' from farmed fish?

We use Arden Grange. Breeder started her on CSJ and Eukanuba mix which I don't think she did too well with and looks less bloated after eating now we swapped. I also use her Arden Grange as treats. She isn't fussy at all if she thinks it might be edible she will eat it. That includes spiders webs and my snapdragons!

Nero came to us on Purina Beta puppy but he was getting an upset stomach quite often. We swapped to Arden Grange puppy/junior large breed and would never look back. His bad tummy went away and his coat became lovely and shiny

Natures menu raw food here too. With a bone twice a week and then whatever we end up leaving at tea time (if it's suitable). Chip was perfectly trained not to beg or drool when he arrived with me (after spending most of his first year in a crate) but I'm glad to say I've turned him into a proper Lab :)

We use Black Hawk , We use Lamb and rice for both our pup(Puppy holistic ) and the dog (Adult Holistic) . Its an Aussie company if am right, so its good buy something local i guess , plus its cheaper than other premium brands . Bruno came with 4legs dog food , But we switched gradually to Black Hawk soon .

    Cheers
    Vish
