    Hello,

I've been fostering this lab mix puppy since he was 3 weeks old and now he's around 6 weeks old. His color is really pretty and his colt is getting thicker as he getting older. I know it's hard to say what a puppy is mixed with but I wanted to see if anyone might know what he might be mixed with?

    Here is his pic

It's possible, probably not very likely, but possible he is a mismark.

He looks much more strikingly brindled than any of the pups or dogs shown at the link though.

    I don't know. Part cutie-pie? :)

Welcome. I hope you stay with the board till he grows up and we can guess again. Plus follow his puppy antics. Though maybe he will be placed in a home? Or are you a foster failure? ;)

My Dad had one of the most lovely dogs who was a German Shepeard crossed with a Staffie, she was a similar colour brindle but a shorter coat.

His colouring is very similar to my sister's old Staffie, but I don't see any Staffie in his face. It would be lovely to see what he grows up to look like, so please do hang around (and adopt him) ;)

    He looks so sweet.

I didn't realise you could get 'piebald' Labs. Makes sense though as you can get different coloured siblings from the same parents.

I guess it's something we don't think of very often but I would guess it's just a genetic blip, perhaps a bit like a birthmark in humans

    Hello, and welcome!

What a totally adorable puppy he is! I have no clue what he is mixed with - I wouldn't say GSD though, there isn't anything about his shape that suggests that. I think a brindle colouring can occur in lots of cross breeds. You'll have to wait for him to grow up! How exciting and interesting for you.

May not be possible to really ell what his mix is even when fully grown. Only real way to know would be DNA test to solve "Who's the daddy" :) lots of fun though trying to guess

Hi @Dano what a very cute puppy you have, I would have said the colouring is GSD but the face shape isn't but that all might change who knows and it doesn't matter as he's adorable. I have a rescue
Labrador x Pointer, Charlie who is black with a white patch on his chest and other white bits here and there but interestingly at the back of his head behind his ears he has kind of gills that are a very soft downy fur which are a fawn colour. Look forward to more pictures. :)
