Re: Whats that stare about ? Yeah it's when they stare at apparently nothing and then turn their head as if watching something walking across the room that you have to worry... Penny does this all time. And she'll stand in doorway of the living ro looking out into the hall and barking at something at the top of the stairs when there's no one there...

Re: Whats that stare about ? Hah! Try living with the dog that does it! It's at least three or four times a day she does it! She's quite reactive anyway and will bark at people making noise outside the house at night, but this is different. She's barking at something inside the house... And I don't know what it is!! :s
Re: Whats that stare about ? Maybe she can hear something outside you can't?! My dogs will start to bark at apparently nothing, then about 3 minutes later my friend will appear, they can hear her car coming down the main road before it turns in a horseshoe shape to come down the lane to me.
Re: Whats that stare about ? Benson stares as well...freaked me out when being too scared to watch a horror film during the evening..I watched it during the day with Benson next to me...he started "staring" at the window... ;D

[/quote] I've thought about that but i can't figure out what it could be. It's also different to the alarm barking she does when i know she's heard something. When she's barking at apparently nothing it's like a growly 'I'm not sure about this' bark. My mum calls it 'oofing' cos it kinda sounds like 'oof oof growl' lol
