So, inspired by the thread where we've all been sharing the nicknames we use for our pups, I thought it would be interesting to hear what some of the pedigree names are of the pups on here who are KC (or equivalent) registered... I know some can be quite...unique lol Penny's KC name is Apricot Gem. The whole litter were called Apricot. I was a bit disappointed as I was hoping it would be something really odd lol
Re: What's your pedigree name? When we first decided on Pongo for a name, long before we got him, we were playing with the idea - just for a giggle - of spelling it exotically (Phongeaux). In this middle of one of these conversations the breeder called to ask what name we'd chosen for the pup, and we told her - including telling her how we were thinking of spelling it. We didn't realise that she was phoning because she wanted to use it as his KC name! And we only spelled it quickly down the phone so it didn't quite translate... So our pup's KC name is Shadowsquad Phongeuax. (Posh or what?)
Re: What's your pedigree name? Hahaha Rosie that's amazing! I love shadowsquad - makes him sounds like a ninja!!
Re: What's your pedigree name? Vespa's KC name is Wallerthwaite Asta. All the puppies in her litter were named after flowers and we chose this one over the phone but for some reason the breeder had spelled aster as asta on the paperwork. Argh. So my dog is named after the American Seed Trading Association....
Re: What's your pedigree name? For Kenzi her KC name is "Secret First Choice" - not sure of the reasoning behind the name though.
Re: What's your pedigree name? Dealminster Herald, all pups in that litter were called after cars. First Lab is Dealminster Kofi, I chose the Kofi part as was thinking of calling him Kofi, but called him Drift. My second Lab just had to be called Rourke
Re: What's your pedigree name? Maisie's KC name is Laurelhurst Sunshine . All the litter where given a name to do with the weather!
Re: What's your pedigree name? Riley is called Riley Watson as the breeder didn't have an affix. We chose Riley (after the cars) and Watson is my Maiden name. Obi or Oberon (the spaniel version) is called Flintwood Focus. He's from a terribly good spaniel kennel where the breeder/trainer has made up numerous Springer champions. Needless to say he wasn't impressed with my terribly trained labrador but luckily I know Heidrun so I got away with it - and my new puppy ! ;D
Re: What's your pedigree name? Mira is Just Jeannie of Angus It never occurred to ask the breeder what her KC name was before we collected her. I would have been quite happy to call her Jeannie - would have saved a lot of time trying to decide on a name!
Re: What's your pedigree name? Tatze's is really odd - Bohemian Avenger!! ??? Gypsy doesn't have one as she's a mongrel
Re: What's your pedigree name? Tarka was born at Christmas so the breeder named the litter after reindeer - she is Lindaste Vixen, but we call her Tarka as she is black as tar and swims like an otter. Lochan is Scottish and her pedigree name is Highhouse Glendeveron - she got her pet name of Lochan as both her parents were named after ridges on the Cuillins in Skye, and there is a little Lochan (means a small loch) at the foot of the Cuillins.
Re: What's your pedigree name? Same breeders as my sis Lochan here! So I have Highhouse Bruan who is Cuillin - breeders gave me Bruan as it sounded the most Scottish of all the litter names, her pet name Cuillin is cos she is a red fox (and there are red Cuillin mountains and black Cuillin mountains); Brodick is Lindaste Jumping Jupiter. he was given Jumping Jupiter as the breeders wee son was a huge fan of Fireman Sam...boy does it suit him, the dog who can get his back legs feet to my head height when having an excited leap (which is quite a lot) - pet name of Brodick cos I got terribly patriotic and wanted something Scottish to go with Cuillin. My family christened him Baldrick (from Blackadder) when he was a pup....he actually rather suited that....
Re: What's your pedigree name? Breeder's name, then "Tintagel" - we had the choice of Cornish castle names - and Tintagel is special to us.
Re: What's your pedigree name?
Odins pedigree name is Aaron vom Hexenbödele ;D
Blimey! That's quite a mouthful ;D sounds like some glamorous count or a Bond villian I'm not quite sure which
Re: What's your pedigree name? Milo's KC name is Churnetview Bourbon. The other name for a choccy the breeder had registered was Churnetview Hot Toddy.
