My two are only on lightweight training dummies at the moment, but I think that between our May trip and when we'll next be in the UK, we'll probably want to upgrade to regular dummies. Is there a recommended brand/website to buy from? How many do you think I'd need, and what weight? I can't see us doing water retrieves any time soon, but I might pick up something for that while I'm over, too just in case, so any suggestion for those would be great, too.

My standard dummies are soft fill canvas dummies, 1lb weight, and I buy them from sporting saint.

I also use the most ridiculously large range of other things for Charlie to fetch as we build up the complexity of weights, shapes, sizes, flappy bits...but that's a different story. I also have an outrageously large number of dummies, but you don't really need more than 3 or 4.

Sporting saint, quest, kennelmate, granary fieldsports and I have some working dog company ones too which are like rugby balls but just get, as Julie suggests, 3 or 4 bog standard dummies from one of the many online shops :)

You're not at the beginning so you may not want to think much about colour but if you do I think it goes like this.....Orange are hard for the dog to see but easy for you. White (and blue I think) are easier for the dog to see. Green is tough for you both ;)

If you do want white you may want to consider plastic dummies as they're easier to keep clean!

Ah, I had wondered what the different colours were for! I know dogs can see blue and yellow, so it makes sense that blue are easy to see.... although half the year, white will probably be the hardest colour and anything else will be quite easy :D :D
