Hiya, I am up to the part in total recall where I recall in the same room. Amy hasn't come just to the whistle yet without encouragement from me. It's been two days, is it ok to keep with the encouragement or should I go back a section in the book?

Ok. So I am trying in the kitchen but she runs into her bed, not too me! And today wouldn't even come out again for the treat.

Hmm....not coming for a sardine? Is she well?
Seriously though, I wonder have you used sardines at all to entice her to do something she didn't want?
Will she recall whistle torher food bowl?
Only other thing is doing the recall when she is hungry I.e. before meals, or miss breakfast out until after training.
BUT do remember recall ain't our strong point ;D

recall is the hardest thing i have ever trained, it took me well over 6 month to get it to near perfect :)
now it is a pleasure to go out on off lead walks,.........stick with it jade, be very consistent,.......i never stop training the recall, its the most important thing you will ever train amy :)
the total recall is an amazing book, i had to read it over and over :)

no changing rooms wont mess it up,....stick with it jade, its hard work, it will be well worth it,.....i could recall jasper from any thing , the hardest thing was recall from another dog , i used to be in tears when i saw another dog knowing he would leg it over to them,.......keep at it the hard work WILL pay off :)

Jade I had this.....Dexter has always followed me whenever I move,I have to remember to tell him to stay when I get up or he'll always come!i had to plant bowls of food in different rooms first thing in the morning while Chris distracted him and then try and slide out when he was dosing or busy with a toy,it was really hard to do!x

We solved this by having him recall between two people - it came back to bite me though!

I have one friend who was always willing to be my second recall person. One day, we were walking together, and she left me and Charlie on a beach - she was going to walk up a big hill further along the coast to a day mark. After she left, I recalled Charlie from the end of the beach, he came, then ran off to my friend! She had walked quite far away at that point! He got to her, then immediately turned round and came back to me. Nuts...we make sure to vary the recall routine now!
