So after months of permanent snow cover, it's now melting. Some parts (e.g. under spruce trees) are now totally snow-free, but there's still maybe 30cm in the fields. I've noticed that Nelson will hunt out an area of snow to do his business on. The last time he did a poo on clear gound was probably October. I'm not particularly worried, but am interested to hear if anyone else has experienced similar with their puppy?
No you are not the only one with a snow pooper. In summer Zeke prefers the tall grasses. And since he has been a poop eater I get to trudge all the way out there to pick it up. I prefer snow, it's easier to find. Rex is considerate and he does his poo right on the edge of the road.
Oh and what about pre-poop routines? Got any circlers? Zeke usually does three circles before doing his business.
Well yesterday he did his first "non-snow" poo. No circles, but he does a "walk", which is best demonstrated by the guy in white at 3:26: (One of my favourite funny videos)
No circling or waddling here but Ella has a lethal post-poo ground kick. In winter, she's covered cars in lumps of mud and wet grass and in summer she's left marks on my legs and arms from the stick/stone shrapnel.
Homer is a circler. He's always chosen dry leafy undergrowth under hedges or trees, never, never on a path or an open field. He can be really picky about finding the perfect spot. But then I'm really picky about which loo I go to, especially if its a public toilet.
