Winter training lining and casting

    With a meter of snow on the ground, my winter training is in our driveway.
    I like to teach pup the basics of blind retrieves over the winter,
    teaching lining and casting as separate drills.

    Here is a "literal casting" session:


    And here is a lining session:


    To work on memory I will throw marks and have pup
    run blind retrieves first, then pick up the marks.

    Looking very, very good. I always wished that here in UK we could have the dogs retrieve to heel, as mine would do that naturally, but had to train them to sit in front and present. You gave good, clear signals; I really must get back to doing some serious training.

    Training in winter and with these conditions must be very tough. My congratulations.
