After our puppy class fiasco last week, I am happy to report I've had a wonderful long telephone conversation with a trainer in Oklahoma that "gets it!" She is currently holding 3 classes a week using only positive reinforcement methods. She has a long history of dog training, showing and breeding and working for a vet and is very interested in helping with the "whole experience." So excited to hopefully meet her in person next month and have an opportunity to work with her. She actually holds a 2 hour orientation class without the pups so she can get the lowly humans to understand before they begin! Such a different vibe from my previous experience. Lori

Re: Wonderful chat with trainer Now that's more like it It sounds really good. That's what happens at our dog club - puppy classes start with a 1 hour lecture (no puppies) on training principles. Then there are 7 weeks of classes with puppies. All positive motivational methods.
