Having a Pukey morning due to mischievous Nelson. 17 weeks and enjoys foraging in the garden. This morning he has destroyed an old pine cone, found and eaten a washing detergent tablet, got hold of a tub of treats and promptly devoured them. I was trying to clicker train to stop him jumping on the sofa when he snatched the small tub out of my hand. Now he has promptly thrown up on the carpet and it was gross and loads of it. Bubbles and all. Now curled into the smallest ball and asleep. They certainly keep you on your toes.
Re: Yuk... And all before lunchtime..... Oh, Nelson..... When I had a puppy many moons ago he ate a bar of soap he found in the bathroom. You just think....why?? why?? why?? Hope he is ok and doesn't have a sore tummy.

Re: Yuk... Hope he is okay too. Glad to hear he sicked up the washing tablet. I remember recently hearing about the toxicity of washing and dishwashing tablets in children. I would keep a close eye on him. I googled and found this. I don't know the website but sounds like good information. "Cationic detergents: Fabric softeners, sanitizers, disinfectants, and rust inhibitors in petroleum products. This category includes quaternary ammoniums" are Highly to extremely toxic The laundry detergents are less harmful but I would still keep an eye on him.
Re: Yuk... What is it with dogs and non enable things? When I clean my son's garden toys outside I have to close the gate on Lola to stop her drinking soapy water : and cardboard she is forever stealing cardboard?! Why?
Re: Yuk... Lilly adores ripping apart our bread wrapper. Its one of the waxed paper type wrappers. I usually screw it up and pop it in the paper recycling bin which is normally in the utility room, door closed. It is only beaten in the popularity stakes by an empty gravy-bone box, or an empty Bisto packet ??? She regards anything in an open bin fair game. Never touched our bin bin with swing top.
Re: Yuk... Thanks for all your comments. Nelson was very quiet for the rest of the day and looked quite sorry for himself. Doesn't appear to have been any after effects. Different puppy today. I have my two grandsons staying; aged 2.5 and 3.75. They are both quite nervous of Nelson but we have all taken him for a play on the local green and all seem ok now. Making good use of the crate.
