Moderator Note: IMPORTANT. As of June 20th, 2017, Photobucket's Terms and Conditions have changed, so it it no longer allowed to embed images on a third-party site, such as this forum, with their free account. Read more here: https://thelabradorforum.com/threads/photobucket-users-please-read.19952/ Specially for Cath (the quick version) In your Photobucket account, select the folder you wish to copy a photo from. In this example I am using "Your recent uploads" In THINK that as soon as you "share" a photo, it becomes unlocked for anyone to see, and is moved into "Your Bucket", As far as I know, all my other uploads from my mobile are Private, with a padlock, but can't recall if I set it that way or it is default. You might want to check this first. Next you hover over the top left of the photo so it shows the mini menu and select "Share" When you click on "Share" another dialogue box will pop up. Click on the BOTTOM (IMG) code box, and the box will briefly go a blue/grey colour and flash "copied". This copies the code to your notepad. Then simply paste this directly into the post, without clicking on link/photo etc. Use either R click "paste" or CtrlV Et Voila! Let me know if this works, or needs some refining.
The alternative version from an android phone. Not sure if it is the same from iphone/ipad - someone else may be able to comment on this Select your photo by clicking on it from your Home screen. Click on the "Share" icon thingy Select the "Copy link to Clipboard" Then the IMG code at the bottom It shows your IMG link has been copied at the top. Select "Done" Simply paste this copied text into you (miniscule) box on your selected thread. Then either "Preview" to check you have done it right or a confident "Post Reply"
Can any of the technical elves help me. I have entered the brave new world and recorded a Christmas Greeting on my phone. How do I get it to the website. I tried e mailing it to myself, but all that arrived was a load of gibberish. I know you are very busy helping Father Christmas, so I would be suitably grateful
There is a flickr app - if you install the flickr app, and open it, it should invite you to select the video on your phone. This is the flickr app I use on an iphone 6: https://itunes.apple.com/gb/app/flickr/id328407587?mt=8
I installed the app and now have the video on Flickr. I am still having trouble. I click on the arrow (share symbol) but I cannot copy and paste the BB code. It keeps referring to photo and image size. I think I must be doing something very basic wrong. Sorry to be a pest. Right now I am sat in front of desk top computer, typing on I pad, with phone (in which the b video resides) on the desk. It was a 3 and a half mile walk to take the blessed video. I will not be beaten. Bah humbug.
Mollly - the video with Molly at the boundary sign? Want me to post it for you on the Christmas Cheer Challenge thread?
I am trying the first set of instructions, which do work, but the photo is tiny. It's so small it can hardly be seen. It's off my phone so the resolution is low but that shouldn't matter, right? Here, I'll show you. What am I doing wrong? Edited to add: It's no longer on my phone. I'm loading from Photobucket.
@Snowshoe when I look at your photobucket, all the photos are postage stamp size on the screen the videos look bigger but photos small. I that what you see too or are your photos full screen? If I click on them I can make them bigger in photobucket, but not sure how to make them bigger here.
I don't know why that is. I tried Flickr too and got the same thing. And it doesn't matter what the resolution is. Some photos are from a camera with much higher resolution but they are small there too. It's got to be some strange thing I set up myself, I guess, but on two photo websites?
Apparently this is a common problem with Photobucket though it's ok for some. It re-sizes photos to too small and Flickr did that to me as well. When I googled for solutions some sites said to try ImageShack instead and that worked for me
Glad you found a solution. I haven't had a problem about resizing with photobucket etc. It probably does it but they look normal. With my Samsung Galaxy S3 I cannot do a direct upload of most of my photos because they are too big. Most of them are 2.5 to 3.5 MB. I guess when they get uploaded to a host site there is some kind of resizing? I really have no idea about how these sites work. Or if it's related to the phone......
