Not to be left out - thought we'd start an 'Are our dogs related' thread for working lines.

I'll start us off - anyone with Bellaroyal?
    Craighorn Bracken?
    Aughacasia Sam of Drakeshead?

Not got them but Lochan has a lot of Drakeshead.

For Lochan we have Greenbriar Viper of Drakeshead, Haretor Mark of Drakeshead, Pocklea Remus (as will a lot of others I think) and Pocklea Tide, and Swinbrook Twig amongst others.

Tarka is more Ettinsmoor/Delfleet lines with Kenue Fir of Leadburn, Birdbrook Teak, Glenbriar Solo, Endacott Soames of Riversway, Lafayette Tolley and Flashmount Socrates.

I know one of Stacia's boys has the same grandad as Lochan (Greenbriar Viper).

It's fun to see how related they all are!

Dexters registered name is Meadhoin Brack ,his Sire is Mordor Mars and His Dam Blackberry Boswells....
I've never looked up his pedigree.... :-[ :-[ :-[ in fact, and I guess this is going to be bad.....I never re registered him to us...he's still in the name of his Mums owner :-[ I'm a bad dog owner I know,I just didn't think it was necessary when we live where we do and have had him neutered!im going to do some looking up but only after I'm up to date on the Forum...I'm guessing that the KC website will be a massive distraction ...... ;D

Lots of people don't transfer registration - the vast majority I'd say! It only matters if you want to do official competitions :) Otherwise doesn't matter a jot!

I don't want to disrupt this thread, but once the working boys and girls have found their twins, we need to find the links between the show and working lines - I can offer some from 1950.....

Bear with me because I only bought Molly for her Lab temperament so I'm not much up on pedigrees.

So far I have found Aughacasla Sam of Drakeshead.

Perhaps someone can explain the Capitals before his name ?

I assume FT CH stands for Fileld Trial Champion.

And IR FT CH stands for Irish Field Trial Champion. What does the IKC after his name stand for? I am guessing Irish Kennel Club.

Tarka has Abbeystead Herons Court 5 generations back which I think was show lines??? Then she has a couple of Manymills dogs which were originally advertised as "not just dual purpose but multi-purpose" before crossing back into working lines with Threevalleys gundogs. Lochan doesn't have a show line in her 5 generation pedigree and I haven't gone back any further yet.

Yay! A link to Obi and Charlie as Comedy Star was Abbeystead Herons Court's Grandfather. :) Then straight to Sandylands dogs. The Manymills side leads to Sandylands Tandy.

    Here is Comedy Star:

Well Riley has some show in him on his dad's side GB CH Squire of Ballyduff.......

On the working side of things the best know is probably FT Ch Tasco Dan who's Riley's great grandad :)

I'll have to dig out his pedigree to check out his mums side of things!

    Straight to Sandylands Mark. :)

I struggle to find a working line dog in Charlie's pedigree past the point at which the Sandylands dogs were mixed with the Banchory dogs. I have F.T.W. Folkingham Solo (1936-)....

On her mother's side I can match these -
    Aughacasia Sam of Drakeshead
    Pocklea Remus
    Swinbrook Twig
    Kenue Fir of Leadburn
    Craighorn Bracken

and on her dad's side -
    Lafayette Tolley

Others include Theoweir Turramurra Teal, Symington Clarebone of Leadburn, and some Cricklecreeks, my favourite being Cuddly Duddley ;D

also 2 SHCH - Rocheby Whiskymac (2xGGF) and Rocheby Acorn (3xGGM)

No time to look further back right now (although I know she goes back to Banchory Bolo ;D)

Re: Working line - are our dogs related?

I dont know if I fully understand what we are saying, but iv just found Murphys pedigree certificate and these are the names that stand out

    from his dads side:

    FTCH Fernshot Comet
    FTCH flashmount socrates
    Sire aughacasia sam of drakeshead
    Sire shorthorn tommy of leadburn
    Morayglen megan of millbuies
    Sire FTW Flashmount danny

    Mums side has less FTCH:
    Kenue fir of ledburn
    Harrockhill leader FTW
    Sire champion Dargdaffin dynamo

Obviously that is not all of them but the ones i think stand out. This certificate goes back to his great great grandparents.

    Maisies -
    FTCH tasco monk of mansengreen
    Ftch swinbrook fee of tasco
    Ftch fernshot comet
    Goldborough athena

Through doing this i have just noticed that murphys grandparent FTCH Fernshot comet is also Maisies great grandparent! Both on their dads side. How funny!

I love Murphy, he does look and act working line, although he has (to my inexperienced eye) a more traditional labrador head :)

Lol Kate that's funny. I have no idea how he looks. I don't really know what diff labs look like other than working tend to be leaner than show!

The sire of this dog was a Poolstead dog, from Sandylands dogs, so lots and lots of links to the forum show line dogs there. :) Plus the Dam had Keysun Krispin of Blondella in her family (a line that features quite heavily in Charlie's pedigree).
