We're on holiday down in north Cornwall for a week, stopping in a village called Crantock, just south of Newquay. We're really happy with the accommodation, however it didn't occur to me that grass is Monty's preferred toileting surface.. I assumed he would just go 'outside', but no, Mr bladder of steel will only now perform on a lawn. we have no phone signal and no 4g, only Wi-Fi in the cottage, which is just brilliant Anyway, thought I'd do a little photo diary of our holiday. Day 1 Mum and dad go to the pub. I'll sit here in cute fashion until someone feeds me something. Hey here come the BISCUITS! Day 2 Off to the beeeeeeech! Chilling in the shade. Mum take note, frozen kongs and sand do NOT make a good match. Mum said look at that soooooo many times! I definitely wasn't the naughtiest doggy on the beach, cos that prize was won by the soaking wet lab who ran up to me and jumped on mum in her chair and tried to steal my treats off her lap! The cheek of it. I was probably middling. I only stole one football and got close to stealing a lady's apple pie. She put the lid on quick. Then up the hill to the pub where I got chips and chicken, woohoo! I'm not in this photo cos I ran to help dad carry stuff and then unfortunately it ended up on the floor. Clumsy dad.
Crantock is one of our favourite beaches and such a pretty village too, proper chocolate box ! Have a look for Daymer Bay which is the other side of the Camel Estuary , its gorgeous, dog friendly too , we go often . Have a smashing time in our Pasty Land x
I realised I didn't say that our garden here is just a paved courtyard, lovely suntrap but no grass anywhere so I was out at 7am this morning trying to find a patch io grass for him to wee and poo on. and the one he chose... The edge of someone's lawn as their neighbours looked on. t Yes, so far, the forecasts change hourly and it's hard to know if there's going to be rain or not. It must easily be 22 c in the garden right now. Yes! We spent an hour on crantock beach on Saturday, and then 3 hours yesterday on polly joke, where the photos were taken. Lazy morning todat to give monts a bit of a rest. I'm aware sand is a bit more wearing on the joints and I don't want him stiff and sore on day 2. he's also not completely relaxed yet, following us round a bit which is understandable. And yes crantock village is very pretty, the local shop sells everything including hot pasties and homemade pizza to order!
We’re in Cornwall on our hols too! Isn’t the weather wonderful? We’ve been to Padstow and Gorran Haven so far - Molly is loving the sand and I’ve been swimming in the sea.
Monty looks amazing, glad you are having a good time. We must meet up for a walk over the summer with @SwampDonkey
So day 3 started quietly with a kibble popsicle in the garden that Monty still won't toilet in... Sigh. Then we took a walk to the pub for lunch, and the waitress gets him all riled up in a loud squeaky voice. He nearly takes her out while she carries out plates over We popped into the local church which was incredibly ornate with beautiful windows for such a tiny village. Not sure if dogs were allowed but I said I was sure Monty was one of God's creatures Then onto the beach.... And Monty lost his little mind for a bit, it was so busy he had to stay on lead. The gannel estuary, leading round to the main beach And up on the sand dunes looking out to sea Sleepy sofa dog who isn't on the furniture, nope, not at all
Haha, I'm staying in an Airbnb next month with Shadow and Squidge. "No dogs on the furniture". Hmm, OK then. Let's see how that pans out, shall we? It looks like Monty is having a brilliant time. That beach, though! My brain just exploded with the thought of what Luna would do if let off lead there with that many people doing exciting things. THERE'S A PERSON STANDING UP ON THE WATER!!! THERE'S A SMALL PERSON! I LOVE SMALL PEOPLE!!! THERE'S AN ASLEEP MAN! I MUST SIT ON THE ASLEEP MAN!!!! DID SOMEONE SAY PICNIC?!?! I GOT YOUR TOWEL!!! HAHA!! YAY! CHASE!!!!
We’re in Crantock at the moment as well with our 7 month old redds- today he swam for the first time ever and he did amazing!!
