This is our first lab mix puppy. I have trained three puppies over the years. This puppy nips at family members legs, hands, and clothes. It is very hard to ignore this behavior when you continue to be bitten when you try to ignore puppy. We have had to walk in yard with big stocks to give the puppy something to chew on instead of us when in middle of yard. This behavior is very frustrating. Would love to get any advice to help us get threw this phase with all our fingers and clothes not torn or ripped.

Hi Wendy, and welcome to the forum. It is very frustrating when biting persists (or reappears) as the puppy gets older, but not uncommon. It's usually associated with over-excitement and/or frustration.

Have a look at this thread on biting. And this one on over excitement. I hope you find them helpful

My 9 month old Lab has this thing about putting his mouth on someones arm/wrist. He doesnt really bite as he just puts our arms in his mouth and "tongues" it. Is this normal? What does this usually mean?
