Hi there! I’ve taken my 10 month old black lab to various dog parks since I adopted him (he was roughly four months at the time.) he is beautiful, sweet and tends to be submissive at dog parks but here’s the trouble: when he gets to playing I worry he is being too rough. Play will usually start with him rolling over for the other dog to sniff, lots of bowing and hip bumping and breaks to shake it off, but then it’s like he gets too worked up and attempts to get the other dog on the ground by tugging at their Collars or grabbing the scruff of their neck. Needless to say I refuse to allow the behaviour. Aside from distraction and redirecting play/ giving time to “cool off” what can I do to help break this behaviour? Thank you all for any advice you may have. It’s hard because I know I’m his mind he doesn’t understand how big he’s gotten, I feel he really thinks he’s still puppy sized despite being 59lbs…
