Aspen is going to be 10 months old tomorrow and I can't even believe it. Time goes by so quickly. He's turning into a real little man now. Wish I could still smell that puppy breath and carry him with one arm. Now he is independent and has such a vibrant personality. My heart is full with him in my life.
Yeah I know what you mean! They grow so fast - I missed Bowie's puppy stage though I didn't miss his biting, chewing, wrecking the house in general and being a pain-in-the-ass teenage lab Has yours hit the teenage phase yet?
This is what I am going through with Max right now. He's 8 months old. I hope I can someday say I miss this, but right now I can't see that happening.
@Master Bowie He has that teenager recall, or I should say lack of it and the occasional talking back, but other than that he seems to have already gotten through the worst of it. Some days he makes me want to rip out my hair haha!
I hear ya!!! If it makes you feel better, it'll pass and you'll have a beautiful, calmer dog in no time - mine is still cheeky but definitely more manageable Love, patience, plenty of wines (that certainly helped me ) and keep up with the training. And don't be afraid/feel guilty to remove yourself and ask for help Good luck!!
Aspen's a very handsome young man, and I love your gate with the paw prints on it! @Master Bowie I have towels that look like that. They're now my "dog towels"
Oh my gosh! Max did that to one of his old blankes too!! And thank you for the reassurance Master Bowie! Max does have his good moments! I just wish they lasted longer, haha!
@Master Bowie I have towels that look like that. They're now my "dog towels" [/QUOTE] What a gorgeous boy - I have CLOTHES like that!!
Somehow I only have one pair of ripped pajamas from Max from when we first got him. I think he preferred the carpet, much tastier.
Crikey...We've got all this to look forward to? Maxx is 19 weeks and currently fairly calm and obedient (well...compared to crocopup days) but I'm guessing we have a couple of months before adolescence hits? [Be afraid, be very afraid]
To be honest, adolescence has been a bit of a non-event with all of mine. Yes, they regressed in some areas but, knowing it was going to happen, I just went back to basics as I needed to. I got frustrated at times, sure, and had a couple of meltdowns when I had awful walks - this with W&S rather than with Squidge because a) I did a better job of training her from the start and b) there’s only one of her; I had to contend with two adolescent pea-brains at once the first time around! You just need to try to maintain your ability to reason that they’re not doing things to push your buttons, it’s truly because it’s difficult for them. That will help keep you sane and reasonably sober
Gorgeous dog - lovely colouring. Nibbler is 11 months and very settled and calm most of the time now. Doesn’t destroy anything any more although rakes in bins and drinks cups of tea if left within reach.
