10 year old lab suddenly whining/ seeking attention during night

Hi - my girl will be 10 in January. She has started to become restless, whining + wanting attention in the early hours of the morning. Fine during the day though. I've tried all sorts - but nothing seems to help. Anyone else experienced this? Be glad of any suggestions. (Exhausted!!)

 

Have you spoken to the vet to rule out health problems before behavioural?

 

I've decided to do that next week if things don't improve. Thing is - she seems so well otherwise...

 

I just wondered if other owners have had similar problem, and what they did about it...

 

Yes. My 5 month old has started doing this. Only at 3-6 am though. I take him outside when he starts barking and usually key word USUALLY he will go back to sleep. Sometimes he is literally barking all night. My neighbors hate me lol

 

Look up canine dementia. I think a trip to the vet is in order.
